Changes to your Dog Registration

A new State Dogs and Cats Online system has been developed and will be introduced as of 1 July 2018. This online system will be the portal for all registration payments, micro chipping and breeder information.

Dogs and Cats Online will replace all individual council dog and cat registers and serves as a single online database that is accessible 24/7, including on mobile devices. Dogs and Cats Online has been developed to allow pet owners to instantly update registration or microchip details, pay their annual registration fees and be a single database for registered breeders. The system will also assist animal management officers to reunite lost pets with their owners. Dogs that are currently registered with council are being transferred to the Dogs and Cats Online system.

What will you need to do?

A step by step flyer will be sent out with the renewal notice to assist owners through the transition process to the new registration database. Owners will be issued with a dog registration disc that displays the dog’s permanent registration number. The registration number will be valid once full payment of fees has been received each year.  Owners will need to wait for their renewal notice containing their unique code and information guide before entering information into the Dogs and Cats Online system.

If you don’t have computer access

For animal owners that don’t have internet or computer access, council staff will be available on set dates in July once renewals have been received at the Berri & Barmera Libraries to assist with entering data into the Dogs and Cats Online system.
